Speaker Services

Parent Groups, Schools, Child Care Centers, Church Groups, Corporate Wellness Programs, or State and National Associations

Looking for an inspirational keynote speaker,
an entertaining program presenter,
or an energizing workshop leader?

I can help your organization get just what you’re looking for!  I’m sure of it.  Why?  Because for the past decade I’ve made over 200 presentations ranging from small moms groups to large professional conferences, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

See for yourself…

It’s pretty simple really.  I am deeply passionate about promoting the well-being of kids and families.  I love educating and entertaining audiences of parents or child-serving professionals who are equally dedicated to seeing that their kids can thrive in today’s ever-changing world.

It takes a village to raise a child.  We need to come together, inspire, and support one another in taking on the task of raising our children in the best possible ways.  To do that, I bring a light-hearted and serious-minded approach to all my programs, which are  filled with love, laughter, and learning.

In order to practice what I preach, I limit my travel away from my family.  To fulfill my mission, I only speak to audiences that are excited about promoting child and family wellness in one form or another.  I want to be as sure as you do that our time together will be well spent – that it will be a truly memorable experience for all!

In fact, I’m so dedicated to providing you with a quality program, that I will personally guarantee your satisfaction, or refund the speaking fee.

If you’re interested in finding out more, or to possibly book me for your event, please complete the Speaker Request Form and submit it today.  We will promptly review your request and schedule a phone interview to discuss how I might be of service to you.

“The 6 Secrets to Getting Your Kids to Listen
– Even When They Don’t Want To!”

If you feel like you’ve tried everything – from begging and bribing to yelling and screaming – but your child still won’t listen, then come learn the most effective ways to get less arguing & more cooperation at home (or school or daycare).

“Communicating with Your Kids in a Media Driven World”

Worried that modern TV, music, video games, internet, and cell phones are taking over your child’s mind, if not soul?  Learn how to maintain a more meaningful, loving, and fun relationship with your kids today.  Improve communications, enjoy daily routines and family rituals, and experience the joys of contributing to community together.  This program will show you how to stay connected at the heart, not the hip!

“Finding the Time to Enjoy Your Kids – and Your Life – Again!”

Too many things to do, not enough time? Want to have more fun, but you’re too tired & stressed?  Learn 5 simple steps that will help you have more time and energy for what matters most – each and every day.

“TIME OUT, TIME IN, TIME OFF!
A Winning Game Plan for Stressed-Out Parents and Acting-Out Kids”

We’ve all been there.  Every parent has experienced the frustrations that come with raising children in today’s hectic world.  We want to enjoy our kids, but often find ourselves challenged by the never-ending demands on our time, energy, and patience.  Daily hassles turn into power struggles which turn into temper tantrums – either theirs or ours!  If you want practical ways to decrease family stress and improve childhood discipline, then this workshop is a must.  You will learn how to successfully use time-off to reenergize yourself, enjoy time-in that renews family relationships, and take time-out to resolve parent-child conflicts.

“FROM ADHD TO EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONS (AND BEYOND):
Success Strategies for Students Struggling with Self-Control”

When they aren’t being bombarded by multi-media entertainment, many kids today are struggling to sustain their attention on important tasks, inhibit their impulses, regulate their emotions, organize their materials, plan their projects, or manage their time.  Parents and teachers are confused by children that just can’t seem to “keep it together” or “follow through with things.”  Adults think these kids “can do it, but they just won’t” because they’re “lazy” or “unmotivated.”  In this eye-opening workshop, you will become acquainted with the executive functions of the brain and learn extensive ways to improve children’s controls over their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

“HOMEWORK HASSLES NO MORE!
A Proven Program for Preventing Problems and Producing Results”

Sometimes it’s hard to know who hates homework more – kids or their parents.   Some kids forget what they’re supposed to do; some forget to turn in the assignment.  Some kids lose their materials; some lose their motivation.  Some kids lie, cheat, and take short cuts; some kids try and try, but it takes them forever.  Pressures to “squeeze it in” and “get it done” lead to parent-child arguments – sometimes every day, sometimes every nine weeks.  Regardless, this workshop will teach you how to eliminate homework hassles with your child.  Learn about my unique 5-step “Homework Loop” and how to use it effectively to improve student productivity and family harmony at the same time.

“DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY:
The 6 Keys to Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity”

Our children are growing up in a world filled with stress and uncertainty.  Adult worries are literally being downloaded on kids at earlier and earlier ages.  They are increasingly exposed to images of violence, natural disasters, health epidemics, economic woes, political scandals, and sexual exploitation.  Many directly experience loss or trauma of some kind in their home or community – from moving to divorce to abuse to death of a loved one.

The good news is that we are increasingly knowledgeable about the factors that help children (and adults) not only survive life stressors, but thrive through them.  In this workshop, you will learn the 6 key factors for building resilience, and how to apply them at home (or school or daycare) so your children will continue to grow “happy, healthy, and wise.”

“CONSTRUCTIVE CO-PARENTING:
Resolving Conflicts Before, During, or After Divorce”

Sex, money, and kids.  Well, I can help you with the kids…  Seriously, the single biggest predictor of child adjustment to divorce is the amount of ongoing conflict between the parents.  If you’re sick of the arguing, avoiding, back-stabbing, bad-mouthing, or otherwise sabotaging – imagine what your child who’s stuck in the middle feels like.  If you want to prevent or eliminate these nasty side-effects of going through an already difficult life transition, then learn how to work collaboratively with your co-parenting partner, rather than adversarially.    This program will show you how to cope with strong negative emotions (yours or your partner’s), drastically improve communications, and implement positive problem-solving strategies. It can and must be done – for the sake of your children and your sanity!

“BUILDING REAL SELF-ESTEEM:
7 Core Competencies for Confident Children”

Today’s school-aged children are constantly facing stressors that wear and tear on their self-esteem.  Too many kids are feeling anxious, angry, or depressed, worn out by family conflicts, school demands, harried schedules, and peer pressures.  In this workshop we will discover 7 core competencies that kids can develop to help them balance the competing demands of home, school, and friends, while building a strong sense of confidence and self-worth.  This lively and fun program promises practical advice for the busy parent, teacher, or childcare professional.

“SPECIAL NEEDS, COMMON SOLUTIONS:
Meeting the Needs of
All Kinds of Kids”

Schools and childcare providers are increasingly faced with a wide variety of “special needs” kids in their care.   These children may be diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, PDD, ASD, OCD, LD, etc.  They may receive special education or mental health services or they may not be identified at all.  But they are increasingly showing up for school or after-school care too tired, wired, irritable or unmanageable, and often without any supports or “special care” instructions.  What’s a teacher or childcare professional to do?!  This program will help you personally prepare for facing special needs challenges every day, understand the three major contributions to any child’s behavioral difficulties, and be able to quickly replace problem behaviors with positive solutions.

EMOTION MEETS EDUCATION:
Understanding and Addressing Student Mental Health Issues

This program provides an eye-opening overview of child & adolescent mental health diagnoses, treatments, and systems.  It is designed specifically for educators, so that you can better understand what is going on for students with significant emotional difficulties and how best to deal with them.  You’ll learn how to recognize “normal” and “abnormal” behaviors, the treatment options available to youth and families and how to collaborate with them, and 3 keys to successfully managing mental health issues in the classroom.
